We’re almost there, I promise! This is Video 8 of what will be 9 videos, with that last one being all about the finishing process. But this one focuses on all the last few details, like finishing the table top braces, refining the routed edges, and adding some hand-cut details around the table top.

The work in this video is almost all done with hand-tools, from basic ol’ sandpaper, to files, chisels, sanding blocks, and card scrapers. Basically, this whole project was built with a Shopsmith Mark V from 1984, a surface planer, a router, and hand tools.

I love how this table is coming along, and I can’t wait to get the finish on this piece. I have things to do, you know.

There’s no place like home. It’s very dusty here, but there’s no place like it.
