This is not a super difficult project, but it does take some patience, a bit of time-consuming attention to a few details, and definitely a “measure twice, cut once,” mentality. You may have seen “MDF” in the title and wanted to breeze right by, but don’t be so hasty!

I chose MDF for this project because it would be painted, and MDF is perfect for painted projects. It takes the paint extremely well, and those painted parts will help the hardwood accents really stand out.
I took extra care with the very few fasteners into the edges of the MDF when installing the wrap-around hinges, but otherwise, this project uses very few nails or screws. You can get fairly creative with the pattern on the doors, and you pick the color and the hardwood. Such a fun and satisfying project!
